Carmel & Naccasha offers expertise in privacy, security, product review and artificial intelligence through its partnership with Anne Ramberg Law, P.C. Anne is available as Of Counsel to advise clients on these complex and increasingly important areas of law.
For nearly 20 years, Anne Ramberg has focused on data privacy, cybersecurity, and product review both in-house at Silicon Valley technology companies, as well as in private practice at nationally recognized law firms. Her experience is complemented by a preceding 10 years of litigation in nationally recognized law firms, and a judicial clerkship in the U.S. District Court. Her clients have ranged in size from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies, including serving as in-house counsel at Netflix, PayPal, Facebook, and ChargePoint.
Adept at distilling the complexities of privacy and security law into clear, practical, and actionable advice, Anne counsels clients on data privacy and security laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the EU’s General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR), Federal Trade Commission guidance, and the growing cohort of state privacy laws. Her guidance is firmly grounded in a client’s business model, objectives, and risk tolerance.
Anne is deeply experienced in advising companies in creating or updating privacy programs to ensure they collect, use and disclose personal information compliant with not only legal requirements, but also consistent with a company’s culture and customer relationship goals.
As part of compliance program review, or on an as-needed basis, Anne is available to draft or update Privacy Policies, Security Policies, Incident Response Plans, employee-facing data handling guidelines, and other policies applicable laws require. She also guides clients in implementing these policies, including employee training and building processes such that data privacy and security is infused into day-to-day business functions. Her practice also includes reviewing websites, apps, and digital or physical products and services for privacy and security issues. She then delivers pragmatic solutions for building into those products the required privacy and security protections and consumer disclosures.
In addition, Anne’s practice includes advising on the use and development of Artificial Intelligence and the emerging AI laws and regulatory requirements. She has provided employee-facing AI use guidelines, training, and executive briefings. She is also available to review the development of closed or open system AI models, as well as the integration of AI into products, services, or business operations.
Anne volunteers at her son’s school and mentors up-and-coming privacy lawyers and law students. She lives with her family in San Luis Obispo, where she enjoys exploring the rugged coastline of the Central Coast and nearly any outdoor activity.
