Martin Luther King Jr. Day

A National Day of Service

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the federal holiday honoring the life and birthday of one of the most influential civil rights leaders in American history. Although the holiday is observed annually on the third Monday of January, this year is extra special because the holiday falls on King’s actual birthday, January 15. MLK Day is the only federal holiday that is “designated as a national day of service” to encourage all Americans to volunteer and improve their communities.

In honor of exemplifying Dr. King’s legacy of service and social change, Carmel & Naccasha celebrates by closing our offices to honor his legacy. All members of our law firm are encouraged to continue to learn, improve their skills, and to take on leadership roles throughout the year for the benefit of the legal, business and civic communities in which we are lucky to live and work and to take pride in the diversity, equity and inclusion conscious practices we have implemented.
