With years of experience working for firms in San Diego and Los Angeles, Shannon L. Jones joined Carmel & Naccasha in October 2017. Shannon has distinguished herself in many of the firm’s primary practice areas including business and real property transactions and litigation. Shannon has also practiced in tax, civil litigation and viticulture law. Additionally, she brings an exciting new skill set and depth of experience to the firm in agriculture law.
Shannon earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. While in law school, she was awarded the Masin Family Academic Excellence Award, participated on the Transactional LawMeet team, and received specializations in business law and taxation. She has been a member of the California Bar since 2015 and is registered to practice before the US District Court for the Central District of California.
While attending law school, Shannon worked as a law clerk for Rosenberg, Shpall & Associates in San Diego, CA, and later obtained a summer associate position at the international law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. After graduating from law school, Shannon went on to start her practice of law at Gibson Dunn in downtown Los Angeles, where she specialized in real estate transactions and financing.
Outside of the office, Shannon provides free legal services to the homeless veterans in the Los Angeles area at an annual event entitled L.A. Veterans Stand-Down – a three-day event that offers free services to at-risk veterans and families with a goal to end homelessness in Los Angeles County. Shannon is also very active on the rodeo circuit, both competitively and as a volunteer. She served as a volunteer for ten years for Special Rodeo, an event that provides rodeo contestants the opportunity to share the sport of rodeo with special needs kids and adults. In addition to this, Shannon volunteered for American 300 Warrior Tours, an organization that places mentors with military members around the world. Shannon traveled to the Middle East with the U.S. Embassy where she visited troops and produced a rodeo.
Shannon makes her home on her family’s ranch in Morro Bay. She continues to be a competitive rodeo athlete, competing in local team roping and barrel racing events, and also enjoys running, wine tasting and SCUBA diving.
