Kevin offers our clients a unique and broad based legal and business background and has extensive experience working directly with high net worth individuals and their closely held businesses. Prior to joining Carmel & Naccasha, LLP, he owned and operated a boutique law firm in Newport Beach, California, for 14 years, that specialized in tax and estate planning.

Kevin earned his juris doctor in law with a certification in taxation law from Western State University College of Law in 1998 and was admitted to the California Bar the same year. In 2002, he received an advanced degree in taxation and estate planning from Golden Gate University.

Kevin’s areas of expertise include advanced estate tax planning, wealth transfer strategies, trust and estate administration, asset protection, charitable planning, nonprofit compliance, contract law, corporate governance and tax sensitive transactions. He is adept at advising entities and individuals regarding the purchase, sale or transfer of business ownership, public and private offerings, complex contracts, shareholder agreements, leases, licenses, strategies to protect intellectual property and risk management strategies that mitigate personal and business liability.

Kevin coordinates highly technical business and legal projects by working creatively and cohesively with CPAs, CVAs, financial planners, insurance professionals, forensic analysts, professional trustees and other technical experts. Kevin offers a technical tax expertise as well as a unique business acumen that enables him to that take into consideration essential tax aspects of a client’s transactions.

Kevin has served as the chief financial officer for the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce and was responsible for facilitating committees on finance, community outreach and local government to further local small business interests. Originally from San Luis Obispo, Kevin is actively supporting business development and philanthropy in the local community.
